Fact: 70% of people have experienced a traumatic event in their lifetime – that equals 223.4 million people. Trauma can include experiences such as but not limited to physical, sexual, or emotional abuse, witnessing acts of violence, neglect, loss and grief, war, medical crisis, natural disaster or accident, bullying, racism, and the list goes on. Yoga fits into an integrative treatment approach by offering tools for self-regulation, building intuition, fostering compassion, and promoting nonviolent communication.
